About

Samia

Pendleton

I graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2001 with a degree in Fashion Design. For the next few years, I worked as a freelancer for some of the fashion industries most well-known designers such as Ralph Lauren, JCrew, and Gap in their design development departments. I spent a brief time in the world of fashion public relations surrounded by the industries most interesting indie up and coming designers such as Jeremy Scott, Costello Tagliapietra, Ksubi, and Kai Kuhne. I was part of a team of people that produced numerous shows and after parties during New York Fashion Week.  I've worked private events for designers and assisted the showroom director in sending garments in and out of the showroom for publications in magazines and newspapers.

In recent years, I have settled down from the fast-paced world of fashion and have focused on my love for travel and photography.  I was fortunate enough to live abroad and was able to experience seeing countries I never imagined I would visit.  With a young travel loving child in one arm and a camera in the other hand, I was able to capture the images I wanted to.

I held my first solo exhibition in Doha, Qatar titled "The Doha Project," which was well received.

After moving back to New Jersey with a growing family I volunteered at school taking photos for every occasion for more than 4 years. With that experience and encouragement from friends a family I took a step further to grow my photography career.  I currently shoot individuals, family, events, and have a passion for fashion and photography.
